The Pipkins Nurseries Story
We've come a long way from our home-based start in 1993.
Our founder was a lady called Ray Whitehead, who set up the very first Pipkins nursery as a small group from her own home. It was popular and within a short time she moved to Bessels Green to let Pipkins expand into the church hall.
That was 1993. The nursery's reputation continuted to grow, so she started two additional small nurseries on the Chancellor of the Exchequer's estate at Chevening and in the lovely Shipbourne Village Hall.
Sadly, Ray passed away a few years ago and in time running of the nurseries was passed on to Magdalena and Colin MacLeod. Thesedays, with the help, skills and enthusiasm of many of the original staff and in their original settings, the nurseries continue to thrive and grow.
In 2011, based on this foundation of routine, attention-to-detail and sheer joy from the original schools, Magdalena and Colin opened a brand new Pipkins nursery in Gillingham.
We are happy this new school will bring children in Medway the same caring and laugh-out-loud fun so many children enjoyed at our other three schools.
